Coupons.com

As a SAHM, one of my many jobs, is to stretch every little penny. That includes tightening our grocery budget. One way I do that is by viewing sales ads. I also view many money saving blogs to get the inside scoop on upcoming sales.
Of course, I also use coupons.  I often clip coupons from Sunday paper inserts.  Another way to find coupons is through coupon websites, where you can print coupons.  The most common one is Coupons.com. Click on the link below to view the coupons and print. You can usually print two coupons per item.

I usually print the coupons to use at my local Publix store. However, be cautious as some stores are becoming stricter about coupon policy regarding Internet printables (IP's). Also, to be "environmentally friendly" only print what you need, when you need it.  Every month on the 1st, the coupons do reset.
Another downside, is that most coupons are for processed foods, so if you trying to buy more natural foods, this is not the way to go.
As with anything, you have to try to see if you like it.

Oh, The Places You'll Go...

I believe everyone is familiar with the all too popular Dr. Sesus' book "Oh, The Places You'll Go." It's probably one of the most given graduation presents for those going on to college or starting out on their own.

Well, I think about that book every time I look at my life. Eight years ago, I never even knew my husband. It was after my grandfather had passed in November 2002, that I decided to go out on a limb and place a personal ad with a popular dating service.  A few days later, I started chatting online with this guy named "Sean." We started talking online, and then progressed to talking on the phone. On December 10, 2002, we had our first date at a local botanical garden.
Well, we've been together since then. Although we lived about two hours apart, we made a point to see each other about once a week. He was still working, as I was still in nursing school. In May of 2003, we were in a wedding for a good friend of his. Well, low and behold, a month later we found out I was pregnant. OMG!!! I haven't even finished nursing school. For my fellow nurses, we all know just how stressful nursing school is already, without adding a baby into the mix!! Plan of action...I think Sean was already considering the military, though he decided to go with the Reserves.

So we got married in July 2003, and then five days later he left for basic training. He returned home about    1 1/2 months before DS#1 was born (having being taken early by c-section due to me developing HELLP syndrome). So, here we are at present day, still married, now a SAHM working per Diem at a local hospital, and 3 very beautiful boys. So basically, eight years ago, I had no idea that my life would be what it is today...I LOVE IT!!!

With all that said, (even though I was against putting any pictures of the boys here), here is DS#1 receiving his 1st three belt loops with cub scouts. I love my life! (and no that's not me with him, that's one of our wonderful pack leaders)

Getting Back Into Scrapbooking

Something I have always loved doing is scrapbooking.  However (and unfortunately) I have not done any pages in FOREVER. I even sold a ton of my stuff to co-workers and at a yard sale.

Tip for the week:

Ok, I cannot do laundry without having to  use dryer sheets. I hate my clothes sticking together because of static. And I don't think I'm alone. However, it is so hard to find a good deal on quality dryer sheets. Here's a solution to lessen the times we have to buy those.

Cut the sheets in half!  This is something I do all the time, and boy does it help. Is this something you do? Do have another suggestion related to saving money with dryer sheets? Please leave a comment!

My First Post!

Ok! So I finally got a chance to sit down and do an introductory post. First of all thanks for visiting my blog. I'm Alison. I'm an RN who works mostly on an OB/GYN floor at a local hospital. In six weeks, I will be a SAHM (stay at home mom), while my husband is deploying. I will work occasionally, to help bring a few extra dollars. However, while he is gone, my boys are my main focus. I choose not to publish my kids names, ages, nor any pictures of  them. I'm only concerned for their safety.  Some of you may say, why name a site "A Mom's Life with Three Boys" if I don't post pictures of them...well your right, but this site is about what I DO.
With that aside, I will post just about anything and everything, especially if it has to do with sales. It will take me awhile to get this site going like I want, so please hang in there, and visit often!!
